The Wye Valley, on the border between Monmouthshire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire, has beautiful woodlands and lush riverside landscapes. You could take your dog along to explore the ruins of Tintern Abbey or visit dog friendly Chepstow Castle which stands high on a rock above the river in Monmouthshire.

The South Wales Valleys offer wide open green spaces and a unique industrial heritage - attractions for you and your dog. Dr Who fans may like to visit locations used as film sets for the series, including dog friendly Caerphilly Castle, Rhondda Heritage Park and Margam Country Park.

Striking coastal countryside and green hills fringe the cheerful beach holiday resorts of Barry Island and Porthcawl where dogs are welcome both in local cafes and in a range of dog friendly accommodation.
